The journey on the road to the Carrier Dome is nearly done for the Lansingburgh Football team.  The trip to Glens Falls/Hudson Valley is just beginning for high school basketball teams around the area.

  So what do you think?  Which teams are the teams to beat?  Potential player of the year candidates? This is the place to talk about it.  Let us know what you're thinking.

I really believe that Schenectady Varsity and Freshman basketball teams are the 1 to beat this year. They have a new player on varsity that went straight to varsity from 8th grade, he played the starting point guard position at the Shen tip off tournament. He did very well considering he looked a little nervous in the beginning (announcers and etc.)The freshman team looked great also, they beat Shaker and Maginn for the trophy.They had a player who was knocking down 3 pointers who I heard is the new player on varsitys brother. I talked to the father who was there with another son who was taller than the other 2 playing and he said his son is 13 and in Middle School and wanted to try out for high school ball but he was not mature enough (didn't know what he meant).I am confident that there will be no 3 and 13 record for Schenectady this season. I believe the new point guard is what they had needed.The team is complete.
