    Smile [:)] Alopecia Areata

    Hi, I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there in the capital region who is dealing with this affliction. My 16 year old daughter has had tis for 2+ years now and I can't seem to find any local information or groups. So far she has handled this problem very well, but I thought if she had someone close to her own age to talk to it might be nice for her. Any information would be appreciated. ThanksBig Smile

    Re: Alopecia Areata

    Greetings;

    The information is on WebMd. It is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks your hair follicles. Experts do not know why this happens. It is most common in people 20 and younger, although people of any age may get it.  Check WebMD for further info, etc.

    Re: Alopecia Areata

    A great homeopathic guide for homecare is "The Family Guide to Homeopathy" by Dr Andrew Lockie
    And I have found "Homeopathic Medicine for Women" by Dr Trevor Smith, MD of great help over the years. When the kids were small "Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicine" by Dana Ullman was used and studied so much that the pages are curled. These three books can get you through most common diseases with the use of homeopathy and good sensible advice. The leading remedies for cystitis are staphisagria, cantharsis, sarsparilla, belladonna, berberis, terebinth, arsenicum and are listed on this site where you can read about them but the site does not offer specific info for prescribing for cystitis. Go to one of the above mentioned books. Staphisagria and cantharsis are by far the most prescribed. If you are not sure start with staphisagria. Over 50 percent of cases will respond well to this remedy.
