Clemens - Guilty or Not? What do you think?

We got this note via instant feedback today...

    name: melissa

    email: **********

feedback: Everyone needs to get OFF Roger Clemens he deserve the Hall of Fame he worked hard to get there and they should look into what B12shots are. What is up with all the reports are always on the YANKEE Players why not find another team. They worked hard to get where they are and they need to get OFF Rogers Clemens back this is CRAZY.

Opinions sure do vary on this.  We've posted the entire phone conversation between Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee and other information about the whole HGH/steroids claim.  What do you think?  Let us know in this space..

Here's my take.  Based on how strongly Clemens is denying this, he's either telling the truth or very confident he won't get caught.   Clemens has shown tremendous arrogance during his career, so it would not surprise me if he thought he could put one past people.  The lie detector idea he floated on 60 Minutes was never going to fly with his attorney's.  Nice try there.  Bottom line, there is no way we will ever know if he's telling the truth. It's his word against McNamee's.  Unless someone comes out of the woodwork, the only truth is what we percive it to be.  My perception.. guilty.

What do you think?  Post it here.

My take.  Probably innocent.  Pitching is a lot different than hitting.  Roger Clemens is known by sports fans to work incredibly hard and has dislpayed a long-term discipline where his body is concerned.  It's hard for me to believe that he would find any benefit to himself to pursue a path that would shorten his career and ruin his image.  The man is too bright and has too much ego for that.

    Rick,

I'm so on the fence about this, any good point can sway my thought.  That's a good point about him not going down a path that would shorten his career.  I'm really looking forward to the hearing on Feb. 13.  That's the first time he'll be speaking under oath.  By the way, with Rafael Palmerio spinning his tale in front on congress, then admitting the opposite, how does he not face perjury charges?

    Thanks for writing!
