    Update

Be sure to check the FNONA website at http://clubs.hemmings.com/firebirdnationofnorthamerica at the Firebird Show page on Thursday night July 5 to see if the show will run on Saturday July 7 or if the Rain Date will be needed!  Rain Date is Sunday July 8.  You can also check the Saratoga Auto Museum page at http://www.saratogaautomuseum.org/index.php or call the Museum at 518-587-1935 for a recorded message.  The show runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.   Info will be posted Thursday July 5, 2007 by 8:00 p.m.  We thank all of our FNONA members and Firebird enthusiast friends who continue to come from states near and far and from Canadian provinces to join the largest All Firebird show east of Dayton Ohio.  This will be the best show yet!

Raffle prizes for 2007 include $50 YEAR ONE certificates, $25 Ames Performance certificates, gift certificates from RockAuto.com, great prizes from Advance Auto Parts Saratoga, and others.  New for 2007 is a 50-50 raffle operated by FNONA.  Half of proceeds go to the winner and half are donated to Special Olympics Saratoga.  As mentioned earlier, the show has been moved to the field at the Hall of Springs.  The new field is to the left of the Museum and the paved general parking lot and will easily handle 200 Firebirds plus projected growth for the next few years.  The field is all grass with no trees, so there is no fear of dust, tree sap or bird droppings.  Field layout will change with improved parking space between cars and two entrances and exits.  There are secondary fields with shade trees within a few yards for use with sun umbrellas and sun tents but tent stakes are not allowed due to underground power cables.  There is also plenty of nearby parking for support vehicles.  Truck and trailer parking will be located across the street from the Museum on the old show field.

This year, trophy winners will DRIVE UP IN THEIR FIREBIRDS to RECEIVE THEIR AWARDS in front of the crowd.  Show t-shirts are back in 2007 and we are holding the price at just $15 each or $17 for XXL.  Goodie bags will include a huge 5 inch by 6 inch dash plaque in full color thanks to Ralph Mangino Jr. and Mangino Pontiac in Ballston Spa, NY http://www.mangino.com.  You can also expect bags and stuffers from Year One, Ames Performance Engineering, Want Ad Digest, Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, Rockauto.com, Saratoga Springs Chamber of Commerce, Saratoga Auto Museum, Gold Eagle Co., and others.  The 2007 dash plaques and show t-shirts will feature the 2006 Best of Show 1968 Firebird owned by Joe Carey and the 2006 Athlete Choice Award 1986 Trans Am owned by Eddie Barra.

The Friday Night All Firebird Cruise is back with police escort by SSPD.  We meet at the Museum at 5:00 p.m. and cruise at 5:30 p.m. for 10 miles to Mr. Ed’s Ice Cream Station and Pizza restaurant.  The Cruise is free but you must pre-register by e-mailing your name, city, state, year, make, and model to tsmith24@earthlink.net with Subject: Firebird Cruise Pre-registration.

The Car Corral is back!  If you have a Firebird for sale, this is the place to park it!  ‘For Sale’ signs in or on your vehicle are permitted only in the Car Corral.  This will be a prominent location on the field.  Don’t miss out.  Minimum donation is just $10 and you still get goodie bag, dash plaque, etc.  You can register for the Car Corral at the registration trailer when you sign in.  For more info, e-mail tsmith24@earthlink.net.
