    Barry Bonds

Someone just said to me, "Why do I kind of feel sorry for Barry Bonds?"  Are you serious?!

The guy brings all this on himself.  First, he is a miserable human being.  He is grumpy, rude, obnoxious and never ever seems to like the media, unless he is being asked about another one of his home runs.

He may have never done steroids, but he did something - human growth hormones or something. It's the only thing that can make his head grow that big, so maybe technically when he says he didn't take steroids, it is correct, but it's something.  Is it a coincidence that he only has four HR's this year?

Plus, if like Jason Giambi, he admitted it a long time ago and said he was sorry - Would he really be getting all the heat?  Would MLB really be putting pressure on the situation?  Probably not.  Like Pete Rose, if Barry Bonds had come clean a long time ago and admitted he made a mistake, this would be over and he would be headed to the hall...to join Pete.

    Re: Barry Bonds

Has the man ever failed a drug test? NO!!!!!  Even if he did take steroids, did he ever break the rules of baseball?  NO!!!!!

Would players who played 30 years ago (pre-sterioids) say they would take steroids if it was not illegal?  YES!!!!!  I saw a round table show recently with 5 hall of famers all say they would have taken roids if it was not illegal and it helped them play better or recover from injury faster.

Show one of the greatest batters ever a little respect.  He's far from Rose's shame.

Pete Rose should be in the hall - the year AFTER he draws his last breath.  He agreed to a LIFETIME ban, so let him push up daisys and never get the satisfaction of seeing his ugly mug on a plaque.  As for B*nds, the best way to deal with him is for sportwriters just not to vote him into the hall. Eventually there will be a test for HGH and the truth will come out and then even the veterans committee won't be able to vote him in.

Giambi apologized, but never said for what.  So he's a liar too, but it's ok for him and Sheffield because they're not breaking any all-time records.

At least Palmiero and Sosa retired.  McGuire became irrelevant after B*nds- what's wrong with an asterisk until somebody legitimate breaks his record?
