Watched the promo for this special report. "We need to renew our license to drive, to own a dog, to go fishing...etc. But we don't have to renew our license for our guns."
Couple of points -
*Out of all the examples given, which actions ( dog owner, driver, fishing, etc.) are protected by the Bill of Rights in ourConstitution?
*Most of the firearms shown in the promo were long guns. They don't require any license in upstate NY....
*To acquire a handgun license in the Capital District one must take and pass safety classes. Pass an FBI investigation. Pass a review by local police. Provide multiple references of one's good character. Pay over $100 in non-refundable fees. Be finger printed and OK'd by the local County Judge. This takes in excess of 8 months to get through. One misdemeanor, one domestic disturbance, one hickup and the Judge pulls the license..........
