“A Parents Guide to Special Education” will be the topic at the next Tourette Syndrome Support Group meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 7 PM in the Community Room of Macy's in Colonie Center Shopping Center, Colonie, New York. Tina Beauparlant, Education Specialist with Parent to Parent of NYS, will be the guest speaker. This training is designed for parents to educate themselves on how to advocate on behalf of their child/children. This workshop will provide parents with a better understanding of the special education process and how to work with your school. The Tourette Syndrome support group meetings are open to anyone interested in meeting others concerned with Tourette Syndrome, learning more about it and sharing experiences.
