Stillwater Players Among Others Announce Spring Show
The Stillwater Players Among Others have announced that their Spring show will be SYLVIA by A. R. Gurney. Directed by Brian Gronczniak, Executive Producer Mathew Sicko and Associately produced by Jason McClements & Linda Yurschak.
Greg (played by Joe Phillips) and Kate (Jeanette Sassatelli) have moved to Manhattan after twenty-two years of child raising in the suburbs, Greg's career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate's career, as a public school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Happily married but miserably employed, Greg is a midlife crisis in the making when he meets someone new in the park: Sylvia (Molly McGrath). She’s attractive, frisky, beguiling and adoring. Greg brings Sylvia home. Not surprisingly Kate wants her out immediately, especially after Sylvia pees on the floor. Greg however wants to keep her, feeling she offers him an escape from the frustration of his job and the unknowns of middle age. To Kate, Sylvia becomes arrival for affection. And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn't understand their relationship. What follows is a hilarious series of interactions with Tom (Terry Ford), the wise sage of the dog park. Kate’s friend Phyllis, (Cynthia Petronis) The “recovering alcoholic” New York socialite. Lastly we meet Leslie, (Carol Ford) the genderless marriage counselor that they see in a last ditch effort to save their marriage.
Show dates will be April 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th and 27th May 2nd and 3rd. performances will be at the Stillwater Parish Center Theater, routes 4 & 32 in the Village of Stillwater. Dinner provided by Panza’s Restaurant and Catering, featuring an exciting new menu lineup. Prices are $40.00 for dinner and show, with a $5.00 discount for seniors, and Veterans.
