12 – 8 pm
Schenectady, NY—Schenectady’s Little Italy proudly presents the 2nd Annual Little Italy Street Fest on Saturday, September 8 from 12 noon to 8 pm.
The section of North Jay known as Little Italy or La Piccola Italia has been known for generations for its fine Italian foods. Eateries in the district will be preparing old family recipes such as rice balls, tomato pie, cavatelli, and eggplant rolotini and, of course, regular menu items. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the tiny hotdogs from Little Italy’s newest restaurant, “Dinky Dogs”.
Richard DiCristofaro is this year’s emcee; feature band is the ever popular Capri on the main stage. The Resewrecks will have a return engagement on Cornell’s Patio. Little Italy’s resident Frank Sinatra impersonator, Frank Marchitto will be on hand to sing a few of Frank’s favorites.
A special appearance by rising star Anthony LaBarbera will delight audiences young and old. Anthony, a high school senior from Mohawk, NY, has been entertaining since he was 5 years old. His repertoire includes selections from the Rat Pack, Bobby Darin, The Beatles, Elvis, Dion and the Belmonts, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago and Billy Joel.
The American Italian Heritage Museum and the Italian Cultural Center will bring the language and history of the Italy to the fest.
