Breast cancer survivors have already cleared one major hurdle...now, a warning for another major health issue some may need to worry about. According to doctors at Duke University, women who survive breast cancer are at an increased risk of heart and vascular disease because of cancer treatments. They say most modern day breast cancer therapies - including ones still being developed - increase the long term risk of heart disease. They're not yet sure how much of a risk it is, but they say it's significant enough to counter the recent gains in breast cancer survival.
The doctors make the comments in the new issue of the "Journal of the American College of Cardiology."
